Mauritius, I'm on my way

Grenoble-Geneva-Istanbul

After long weeks of waiting, I finally leave to find Cathy, the one who started this adventure.

Departure from Grenoble by bus to Geneva Cointrin International Airport for boarding on a Turkish Airlines flight to Istanbul.
With a little delay, the flight lasts 3 hours and 10 minutes.
The arrival at night is superb. We fly over the Bosphorus Strait separating Europe and Asia.
It is more than midnight, and seen from the sky, the conurbation of more than 15 million inhabitants does not seem to have sleep.

Istanbul-Mauritius

The stopover lasts 2 hours and 45 minutes. It just gives me time to get on the next plane, always with the same company, and we take off again, this time to Mauritius for a flight of almost 10 hours.
Even if we fly at very high altitudes, I clearly distinguish Cairo, the Egyptian capital, then the banks of the Red Sea.
It's late, I get tired and fall asleep quietly.

It is 1:10 p. m., and before landing at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, we can admire the magnificent colors of the lagoon and the view of the famous Morne.
But this will be the subject of another article.

Santa Claus is waiting for me

A nice surprise awaits me at the airport: Santa Claus and his associates. The musical reception is warm.

Christmas at Mauritius Airport
Santa Claus in Mauritius Airport

I left Grenoble 24 hours ago. It's been a long journey. I'm very tired, but for the first time in my life I'm going to spend Christmas at the beach under the coconut trees 🌴 in a temperature of about 30° 😎and bathe in water at about 25°.
I don't miss winter and snow at the moment!!

Yves.

Et surtout, ne jamais oublier :

Il vaut mieux être à l'Ile Maurice
que chez Maurice à Lille
